A suite of 20 photographs chronicling the employees and operations of the Royal Mill Complex in West Warwick, Rhode Island, then operating under the Benjamin Brayton and Robert Knight Company, who marketed their cloth under "Fruit of the Loom."
The Lewis Hine-Like images show a humanistic depiction of the varied workforce, including in more than one photograph a number of minors who appear to be employed by the Mill, adorned in occupational attire. Other scenes show different aspects of the textile operations including views of water and steam-powered spinning and weaving machinery manufactured by Whitin Machine Works (South Northbridge, MA) and Potter & Atherton Machine Co. (Pawtucket, RI).
The Mill complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
