A rare and intriguing photograph showing a group of Japanese-American lumber workers posed in front of their camp, some posed next to their wives or holding their children or, in one man’s case, a cute dog. The expressions range from solemn to joyous. One man in the upper left is posed with a watering can, held over some plants.

The photograph was taken by Clark Kinsey who, along with brothers Darius and Clarence, are widely-recognized for their keenly-rendered images of the lumber industry in the Pacific Northwest.
