Unusual carte-de-visite still-life showing a large trade sign for a saloon or beer hall. The photo was taken by G.A. White, who operated a studio on St. Joseph street in South Bend, Indiana. Records show the studio was in operation by 1875 but in 1878 it was a destroyed in a fire that claimed six buildings on the block.
