An unusual composite photograph showing Bonner, who was dubbed "the horse with the human brain" as well as his trainer, Professor C.L Edwards of Rochester, NY. According to newspapers of the time, Bonner could perform over one hundred tricks and feats, and was known to "tour the principal street of any city without the use of bridle or reigns."

The verso is signed by Edwards with a note reading, "Ringling Season '97."
