A charming portfolio of photographs showing the homes, entertainment centers and civic buildings of mid-century Los Angeles and its denizens at work and play. The works were completed by a photography student at the ArtCenter School (now the ArtCenter College of Design) which was founded in downtown Los Angeles in 1930. In 1935, the great portrait photographer Fred R. Archer started the photography department, with his colleague Ansel Adams as an early guest instructor.
