Five 1970s color photographs documenting the breezy beach community of Isla Vista, which is primarily occupied by students of nearby U.C. Santa Barbara. Included are shots of the Sun and Earth Organic Kitchen; the Sweet Potato Cafe; two views of a recycling plant; and a photo of Sip Our Suds Beer, the first store in Isla Vista to sell alcohol.

In the mid-1940s the great F.S.A. photographer Marion Post-Wolcott suspended her photo career in order to raise a family, but periodically returned to the medium as she traveled and taught in Iran, Pakistan and New Mexico. In 1968, over three decades after she began, she returned to freelance photography, focusing on color work in California.
