There is oddly little biographical information available about the underground actor turned prolific pornographer Titus Moede (sometimes called “Titus Moody"). He began his career in the late 50s as an actor in teen-themed films. In the 60s he was acting regularly in low-budget fringe films, most notably as a stock performer for Ray Dennis Steckler. By 1970, he was devoted exclusively to x-rated fare, including the notorious cult feature “The Dirtiest Game in the World.”
The present album would be somewhat unremarkable, a porno director’s photographic compilation of adult film stars, if it were not for the notable addition of Moede’s beloved chihuahua Chi-Chi present in every single photograph; the four-legged centerpiece adding a layer of absurdity and an odd sweetness to each image. The book ends with a list of the subjects (dubbed “Chi Chi’s Angels”) and notes their film credits, including such colorful titles as “I Ream of Jeanie” and “Muffy the Vampire Layer.”
