A handsome 1870s unmounted albumen photograph, credit to I.W. Taber, showing General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo. On the verso there is a note which reads "from G.H. Fitch" and a date of April 30th, 1890. This refers to George Hamilton Fitch, a longtime journalist for the San Francisco Chronicle who likely sent the photograph to the New York City-based publication Century Co., whose credit stamp appears on the verso as well.
