Stephen Shore (b. 1947, New York City) is an American photographer who rose to prominence in the 1970s for his mundane images of everyday American scenes, particularly those associated with the road and travel. Shore’s photographs, while banal in subject matter, are formally beautiful in structure and color.
The present photograph is from his now-classic series of 60 photographs shot on a single day in Los Angeles in 1969.
