An fascinating collection of material pertaining to a prominent Italian-American citizen of Jamestown, CA, including interior and exterior shots of his notorious saloon, an 1894 ledger from the saloon, a printed transcription of a trial he was involved in, and other interesting ephemera.

John Rocca was a pioneering resident of Jamestown, Tuolumne County, Ca. He was born in Italy in 1845 and by 1859 he was living in Jamestown. He found success as a miner and used the capital to start a number of successful businesses in town. By he time he passed away in 1921 he was a beloved community leader who had seven businesses and fifteen children. Rocca park in Jamestown is named in his honor.
