Unusual ambrotype photograph showing an artist proudly displaying his work. Affixed to the verso is a label which reads "Grandfather Louis Z. DuFeau. Born in 1842, DuFeau emigrated from Canada to the United States in 1865. He settled in the midwest, working as a marble cutter in Chicago in the 1870s, before ending up in Milwaukee for the remainder of his life.
