This unusual photograph of a photograph affixed to a wooden board. The ovular portrait is of General William Francis Bartlett, a Civil War general who lost a leg in combat and later became an executive in the iron industry. The solemnity of the scene is rather disrupted, however by an errant fly who can be seen in the upper right corner of the frame.
