Published for potential customers, this handsome presentation album illustrates the process, start to finish, of the logging and lumber operations of the Booth-Kelly Lumber Company of Springfield, Oregon.
The album begins with a page of introductory text, noting that the company “has been in the business of growing, harvesting, manufacturing and marketing its timber crop since 1896” and that the album (a “story in pictures”) is the result “of the combined thinking of all the Company’s main operating departments, Land, Logging, Manufacturing and Sales.” The album goes on to thoroughly showcase each of these departments’ operations.
Each photograph is numbered, and most have an accompanying explanation in the back of the album. Photos 47, 48 and 49 have a caption stamped directly onto the print, and their accompanying explanations have been pasted over with a sticker reading, “Quality is our watch word which means continual change.”
