A handsome, letter-pressed ticket to a 1907 exhibition of the pictorialist photographer Alvin Langdon Coburn at the St. Botolph Club in Boston, MA. Founded in 1880, the club hosted a long-running series of fine arts exhibits, particularly new work from American Impressionists.

A review of the show published in the Boston Evening Transcript speaks to the changing views of photography of the time, noting that Coburn’s work, “testifies to the remarkable artistic development of a once despised medium of pictorial expression and shows how, in the hands of an artist, the camera made me made to give expression to individuality of sentiment and style.”
