A wonderful and cleverly-executed pair of multiple exposure “trick” photos, both showing the same woman numerous times. One of the two photographs shows the woman reading a letter, while a duplicate of herself stands over her, perusing it as well.
The second image is quite remarkable in its layering. It shows the woman dressed as an artist, painting a portrait of herself. The pair is in front of a large oval photograph which presumably is meant to represent the portrait being painted (though it actually composited in). In the oval portrait, the woman is wearing the same outfit that she wears as “the sitter,” but there are slight differences, I.E. the presence of her necklace in the portrait. And behind all of this there is a cabinet card photograph of the woman as well.
