A collection of seven raised beadwork frames created around the turn of the century the Haudenosaunee (People of the Longhouse), also known as the Six Nations (Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk and Tuscarora Nations). Based on traditional patterns and fashioned by Haudenosaunee women using Venetian beads and metal sequins, these frames and other souvenirs (pin cushions, purses, etc.) became popular during the late 19th century, as tourists flocked to Niagara Falls and the surrounding area.
