This lovely book of drawings, completed between 1900 and 1904, depicts indigenous flora in Australia (primarily New South Wales), California, and England.
Identified flowers in New South Wales include:Kyalite, hop, pittosporum, quandong, and Kurrajong. California flowers represented include clover, honeysuckle, thimble berry, wild cat ranges, and huckleberry. These California flowers were found in Eureka, Ferndale, Little River and Trinidad. English specimens include wild poppy and yellow iris.
Overall, a charming vernacular compendium.
Binding splitting, with a few pages loose. Otherwise good condition.
