This album, entitled “1960 Automobiles by Gary Burleson” functions in a similar manner to sales catalogs and press-packets released by automotive manufacturers. The difference however, is that Burleson’s compilation features new models produced by a variety of makers; Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Buick, as depicted on the lots of their respective dealers. Each page displays a matter-of-factness systematically showing the front, back, and side of each car. Perhaps Burleson was fraught with indecision while hunting for the perfect new vehicle, and ultimately relied on photographs to compare and contrast.
