In 1969, Hills Brothers Coffee produced a can with a reproduction of Winter Morning, Yellowstone Valley, an iconic image by the photographer Ansel Adams. In recent years, the Adams can has gained status as a seminal example of Pop Photographica (photography incorporated into 3-dimensional objects). Daniel / Oliver Gallery proudly offers, to any forward-thinking collectors, the next great thing in Photographic Can Art - A Folgers coffee tin with a reproduction of “The “Champagne Photo,” or, “East and West Shaking Hands,” by the important photographer A.J. Russell. The image, taken at Promontory Summit, May 10, 1869, shows the completion of the transcontinental railroad and is one of the most widely-recognized American photographs. This may someday be the most widely-recognized example of a photographic can, so we gently urge you to get ahead of the curve on this one.
