A pair of real photo postcards by Ralph L. Edgerton, who operated a commercial studio in Fremont, Nebraska. Edgerton was an accomplished commercial artist who was active in local camera clubs and gave lectures on the history of Fremont with the aid of a stereopticon. But he is perhaps best-remembered for teaching his nephew, Harold “Doc” Edgerton, how to take, develop, and print pictures.
It is notable that both of present images relate to flashing or electric light, the continual tenant of Harold’s own work.
