A rare early view of the east bay town of San Leandro, California, taken shortly after its incorporation in 1872. Present in the photograph is J.L. Graves San Leandro store, which was located on Davis Street and also seemingly operated as a saloon. Graves passed away in 1873 and the property was run by his wife until the building was destroyed by a fire in 1876.
