Long considered one of the most picturesque drives in America, the road from Fairfax, CA, to Bolinas in Marin County was widened, trailed, and paved in 1917 in order to accommodate the burgeoning auto-tourists flocking to the area. A few weeks before this modern highway was opened, a duel campaign was launched whereby a party in an Overland 85-4 took the journey to showcase both the scenic beauty of the route and the vehicle’s touring capabilities.
