The first section of the album begins with an exterior view of an unidentified residence. This is followed by 22 sharp, mostly platinum print photographs of the devastating 1906 Earthquake, depicting collapsed, off-kilter, and partially intact buildings, warped streets and roadways showing deep, gaping crevices, and birdseye views of the vast destruction. One powerful photograph shows two surviving columns of an otherwise-leveled City Hall, an image memorialized by the painter Charles Albert Rogers. Identified San Francisco locations Telegraph Hill from Montgomery Block, Mason and Eddy Streets, Mission Street looking West from Fremont, and Montgomery from Clay Street.

The rest of the album contains varied and interesting views of the Golden State including two views of the Cliff House; two illuminated views of San Francisco at night; three photos of naval ships, including the flagship Connecticut entering San Francisco Bay (as seen from Telegraph Hill), as well as a photo of a large crowd and a “welcome” sign for the fleet; two photos of Mt. Lowe; a view of San Francisco from the Fairmont hotel; a photo taken on the deck of a the "Chinese Pirate Chaser Wong Ho;" two Native American images; views of the Pan-Pacific Exposition including candid shots of President McKinley; and a few personal and nature photos.
