Dramatic group of photographs showing the violent upheaval that took place in South Central Los Angeles after the acquittal of four L.A.P.D. officers charged with excessive use of force in the arrest and beating Rodney King. The present collection includes images of burning buildings, looting, and other scenes of unrest. There are a number of images showing the attack on Reginald Denny, a truck-driver who was pulled from his vehicle and severally beaten. The attack left him with a fractured skull which impaired his speech and ability to walk.
